But I have to say, when I was in Japan and the 'local place' made undrinkable swill, I could not have been happier to find a Starbucks! Of course it was across the street from Asakusa-one of the only neighborhoods that wasn't destroyed in WW2 (let's destroy it now with our franchises!) but after a breakfast of fish and rice, this pancake loving gal really, really needed a decent cup of coffee.
